FAIRVIEW HAS A LITERACY PARTNERSHIP WITH SIX RURAL VILLAGES IN GHANA WEST AFRICA

Special Celebration of Our Mission in Ghana

Don't miss it! Worship at Fairview on September 12 will celebrate Fairview's Presbyterian Second Chance literacy mission in 5 rural Ghanaian villages.

At 9:45 Charlotte Anokwa and Robin Miner will present some of the work accomplished during their most recent trip to Ghana in May. The presentation will focus on the workshop facilitated by Charlotte and Robin which was attended by 40 volunteers, as well as interviews Robin conducted with Presbyterian Second Chance students.

Both worship services will include elements of Ghanaian Presbyterian Worship including Ghanaian music.

Following 11:00 AM worship during Fellowship Hour you will have a chance to sample some Ghanaian cuisine.

September 12 is a chance for you to see how your support of Presbyterian Second Chance improves the lives of Ghanaian Christians.

Presbyterian Second Chance (PSC)

Presbyterian Second Chance is a literacy partnership between Fairview Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis and The Presbyterian Church in Ghana.  Our goal is to enable children and adults of all ages to read the Bible.

PSC has grown into an after-school literacy program in six small rural villages about 60 miles NW of Ghana’s capital city of Accra.

PSC is staffed by Ghanaian volunteers who use books and other educational materials provided by Fairview.  Fairview members visit every other year.

The Presbyterian Church of Scotland in Rome has joined the partnership.

For more information contact  Charlotte Anokwa or Robin Miner through the church office (317) 251-2245.
