SHORT STUDY GROUPS FOR ADULTS

Short study groups are created based on the special interests of the congregation.  They may last for days, weeks, or months depending on the interest of the group.  Current short study groups include:

Wednesday Women

  On Wednesday evenings at 7 pm, we gather for conversation based on A God
  Who Looks Like Me: Discovering a Woman-Affirming Spirituality, by Patricia
  Lynn Reilly.

Book Club

  Are you an avid reader?  Do you like to talk about a really good book with
  others?  If “yes”, then our book club is for you.  Our first book was The Soloist;
  the next book and date will be announced.

“The Creeds”

Do you know anything about The Apostles’ Creed or why we recite it often? We found out in November, as the Worship Committee led classes on three Sunday mornings at 9:45 am. The class was based on some of the creeds of the church.

Advent Study based on Handel’s Messiah

For a lot of us Christmas isn’t Christmas!! until we hear  The Messiah.  Our chancel choir performs this musical masterpiece on Sunday Dec. 13 at 11:00 am.  Get more from the music by joining a 4 session Advent study group.  We’re using a book called “Hallelujah:  The Bible and Handel’s Messiah” by Carol Bechtel Reynolds.  We’re planning several groups meeting at various times to make it convenient for people to join.
